Were I more musically creative, I would compose a song to lament the demise of my sewing machine. Instead, I will just document its sad existence. Now, if you know me at all, you will know that I absolutely LOVE to sew. However, my sewing machine is doing its best to discourage me in this pursuit of said love. I don't know why, but whatever I choose to sew, the machine says, "No, I'm sorry, I won't sew that today...or ever." On second thought, I don't think it apologizes at all. It just says NO. My latest project is a quilt for a girl at work who is having a baby. Obviously this is a bit of a time sensitive effort. Does the machine take that into consideration? Of course not. It misbehaves even more. I am convinced that it, coupled with my extreme lack of patience, will eventually cause a sort of explosion of my head. It really is a wonder that I continue on in this pursuit of all things fabric.
All that being said....this may be the weekend that I finally get the sewing machine of my dreams. While I especially loathe the beast currently occupying my sewing table, it's slow death (and intermittent puffs of burning odor) will allow me an excuse for a NEW ONE!!!!! This beautiful creation you see below is the Bernina Artista 730E -- not only the most wonderful sewing machine ever, but it's also an unbelievable embroidery machine! I can only imagine.......
Well, maybe a used one. Or one a few models down.
